Love

You go through life loving your parents, your siblings, your grandparents, your friends, etc., but when do you realize you loved yourself? Or do you? Are you at that age that you focus so much on other people you forget about yourself ? It’s easy to do. I’ve been there; done that. The thing is, at the end of the day, you’re what matters. I’m not saying your friends and family don’t matter. I’m saying you matter first. Above all. Not in the selfish way where all you do is talk about yourself, or that you won’t help anyone with anything. I mean in the loving way. The way you think about your feelings and sort them out, where you care about your mental and physical state, and you’ll only allow yourself to be friends with those who support you and love you. If we ALL did that, just think of how much depression and suicide would decrease.

It’s okay to love yourself. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to talk to someone about all the stress, all the mood swings, and all the pain. Once all of those are out in the open, all that’s left is happy thoughts. If there aren’t happy thoughts by any chance, maybe that’s when you can finally feel like there CAN be happy thoughts. That there’s room to grow. There’s always a chance for you to love yourself. There’s tons of you out there that did terrible things. Things that are unforgivable. But I know a God who makes the unforgivable forgivable. Who makes the unloved loved. Who makes the depressed happy. Who makes the sun rise and set every day for you a new chance to live out and love your life, and in turn find Him and love Him.

Some people think if God loves me so much why do I have it so bad? It’s because you don’t have a relationship with him. He wants you to talk to Him just like you would a friend or relative because that’s what He wants. He loves you. He let His son DIE for YOU so that you could have a life with Him after this one.

Others think that they’re too far gone. They’ve done too many bad things to be forgiven. Let me tell you my friend, there is hope. Saul(who later on became Paul) was one of the meanest guys back in the day. He persecuted and killed tons and tons of Christians just for their beliefs. Do you know what else? God forgave him. Not only because God loves each of us, but because He has a plan for all of us. No matter what that might look like, it’s all a part of His plan.

Maybe you don’t love yourself right now, but I promise you that once you do it is so sweet you will never want to go back. God loves you. Once you love yourself, and can use that for how you live out your everyday life, you will begin to fulfill the long journey that God has set before you(even if you can’t fully see it yet). How exciting!
